my salesman pointed out that the unit came with a spare tire but no jack or changing tools. said there was a reason for that, it is not a DIY project.

Your salesman has apparently never been in BFE with a flat and no ability to get ERS or change a wheel. I choose to have the ability to do the latter (in a pinch) and have done it before on a class C.
don't know why the salesman having a flat tire matters in this instance myself. It was for a class A however, so it is a little more of an issue than with a 21 ft C. and no AFAIAC it is not a DIY.
