I agree with 'deandec".....A large DP is probably harder to break into than a house or apartment and if they do try, there is only one portal they'll be able to use, the front door.
Something else that wasn't mentioned, with a motor home, you can just start up and drive away.
I never recommend that anyone carry a gun unless they KNOW how to use it and are WILLING to use it. Otherwise you can quickly become a victim of your own gun.
The most troublesome people you'll come across, in your travels, are those which are often called creepy crawlers. They're the ones panhandling at gas stations and rest stops. Creeping around trying to catch you off guard and tell you about their tale of woe and why they need gas money...just ignore them and move on.
Now days, a cell phone works as well as having a gun. For those of us who can carry a gun, we also know there are very limited situations where it can be used. I find I get more people to behave as they should when there is the threat of the police being called or that their photo is being taken. Once their photo is taken, they can no longer deny involvement. Works well for road rage too!
