We have never stayed in a Walmart overnight but have stopped over at rest area's. Never felt uneasy about the rest area's or any campground. Common sense and "gut" feelings usually never steer you wrong. Also, as a retired police officer, I have the luxury of being able to possess firearm in all 50 states, but I always use common sense to avoid a problem.
