You do realize some of the vehicles you are comparing are crossovers and some are SUV's? Your MDX is a crossover while the Grand Cherokee is an SUV. Car chassis vs truck chassis. I think most of the crossover manufacturers will tell you it is not an off road vehicle. We had a Lincoln MKX a few years ago and it clearly was not an off road vehicle. You can drive on roads that you would take any other car on, but if you're looking for something to take off road on other than smooth maintained dirt roads, I'd get an SUV.
