Also always remember there is 6 gallons or so in the water heater unless you have an instant on. We have often put it on bypass and used a drain hose setup I made to get that water and add to the water tank. Just be sure not to turn the hot water tank on. Where there is a will, there is a way.
I read of someone installing an external fill connector to the main tank so they could pour directly into the main tank from a jug/container, without having to move the RV, but I can't seem to locate the post. It would be much nicer to be able to store an extra tank and then fill directly into the main to be able to use the water through the main system rather than have to poor from extra jugs.
