Need some guidance on fuel tanks - 85 Eldorado President

I had a dual tanks on vans back in the day, solenoids go out fuel gauges can be inaccurate . One tank was accurate one wasn't. I always ran the inaccurate tank first then switched. that way I could judge when to fill up better. Good luck
