Never Say Never
Well I'd NEVER would have a diesel pusher. Too expensive, high repair bills, complexity, weight, and 45 other reasons. 2 1/2 weeks ago bought a Fleetwood Discovery on a Freightliner Cummings chassis...

Some thoughts on a diesel MH:
For every 10,000 mile;
$3584 for 6.5 miles per gallon with gas at $2.33/gl
$3322 for 9 MPG with diesel at $2.99/gl
That is a difference of $0.026 per mile.
Then you have to factor in the extra cost of buying a diesel rig.
To me that means that you have to drive a TON of miles before you breakeven based on MPG only. Then you factor in higher maintenance costs and it gets worse.
So then why buy a diesel?
A: they have great towing ability.
B: The extra torque is important when climbing hills
C: If you want high end, most coach builders have their highest end offerings in diesel coaches
D: They are very cool!!
E: If you can afford the best why settle for anything less?
F: See D and E
