And the answer is $1400.
I had already looked up the price on Amazon and PPL so I knew I was paying up but it was going to be 95 degrees that day (Florida), he was there and had the unit in his van.
I could have shopped nearby dealers and maybe save a few hundred but I would have had to break camp, be hot, etc.
So I bit my lip and it was done in an hour or so.
He wanted $400 for the motor replacement. They are $100 delivered and I had replaced both about five years earlier.
I inspected the coils before replacement and they were shot- falling off, a third gone.
And it definitely cools way better than the old unit.
