Amazing how the RV community is getting taken. A 15,000 BTU window unit at Lowe's $400. A 15,000 BTU RV AC $1000+ which is basically a window unit mounted on the roof with a plastic shroud.

Maybe the RV unit is built to handle a greater rigor, but there sure a lot of complaints from RV unit owners (me included) of their RV AC units going out at a very young age. If we are paying a 100% markup for durability, I would expect a life of at least 10 years, IMHO.
