New cargo carrier for "B"s

Not at all practical but looks neat and is cute. But, I have the Gearspace 34 with landing gear for my PW Plateau TS and it is easy to take off hitch, is really roomy and you can actually see out back although with the camera it is not a big issue. But it isnt cheap either. Important to remember is how much weight you can carry on your 500 lb limited hitch.

Personally, I think this looks AWESOME.

It's smart to think ahead about an escape route.

When you think about it, most (maybe all?) hitch type carriers block exit from the rear doors. Stow-away, Rola, Nicova, Lets go Aero etc. My bike rack can prevent me from opening the rear doors. I don't take the rack off at night.

By the way, this is a picture of a bus, not an RV. I would think they can remove the carrier when not required. For example, they could use it as an urban bus during the week, without the carrier, and use it on the weekend as a charter for ski trips, where the carrier would be needed. Just one possibility.

If that were the case then how can the Leisure Travel Van Free Spirit SS be sold in the US? It has no rear access to the passenger compartment as it comes out of the factory.

The LTV units have a rear window that pops out for emergency exit to comply with the law.

Our emergency exits are the two rear side windows. No rear door but we have one fire ext. in front and in rear.

I believe the law states every room in an RV must have an emergency exit. I would think that if you have a bed in the rear, with the kitchen between you and the side door, you would need an emergency exit out the back. This law is the reason the Roadtrek 200 had a removable rear window.

If a driver can't safely drive without looking out the rear window they should take lessons on using the outside mirrors.

The SS has three doors very near the bed.
