New E450 Chassis

Has anyone driven, seen or bought a new class C on the new Ford E450 chassis. Is so, what is your opinion or experience. Thanks

Yes, the new V8 with the safety package.
  • Seen some youtube vids of new 2021 Class C's with the new V8. Would love to drive one and compare, or have one in an F-250, which I've seen a few on dealer lots. Maybe a test drive...hmmm.....

Still, the V10 in our C, which we bought 1.5 years ago, is just fine and seems to have plenty of power. I'm happy with it. Hope to use our C for about 10 years+++ ... until the kids are out of college (1 about to start and 1 going into 7th grade)...and see what fits me and wife then.

And, in the E350/450 chassis, you didn't even get the 3 valve V10, just the lower powered 2 valve head engine.

To the best of my knowledge, the 3V was NEVER available in any E-Series.

I did not know that Ford was planning any changes to the E450 chassis !

There is no 2020. 2019s were produced through the end of the 2019 calendar year, then they started making the 2021s in February.

    Notable features:

-7.3L V8, dyno certified @ 350 HP (V10 was only dyno certified in the F450 and up, where the 3-valve was rated at 288 hp, so this makes quite a bit more power than the 45 horsepower on paper suggests).

-New electric architecture common with the F-series, which allows optional driver-assist features, including Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Active cruise control etc. But so far, none of the new 2021 coaches I've seen have been so equipped.

Chassis itself is largely unchanged, and the interior changes are limited to the updated F-series dash and steering wheel.

On the outside, the only visual cue is a taller air-dam below the bumper, similar to the F-series.
