New RV? CAMI = "Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International"

Sorry if this has been posted before.

$650k for an RAV (Recreational Amphibious Vehicle)

CAMI

I don't know what do you think. Being a boat owner I worry about waves from other boats. In all the pics it seems to always be in motion so I wonder if that is how it deals with the waves?

  • Yeah, that coach has been around for a very long time.

When I first saw it I thought that it needed more. It needed to be more open to be actually useful. Either the open top level seating like the Airstream with the Skydeck, or two open veranda decks on each side like the Country Coach Veranda 45 with one. All three coaches were available around the same time, in 2004.
  • And, your bay storage is full of pontoon type balancers. A train wreck in my opinion. I would imagine that they sold zero Terra Winds.

    MM.
  • Does not make a very good boat as far as I see it, also did you see the steps for going in and out at campground, door must be 4 plus feet off the ground, don't trip and fall out that door.

Probably handles like an RV in the water and a Boat on land.

8 knots (9.2 MPH) on water, 85 MPH on land. The low center of gravity reduces the pitch and role according to reviewers that have driven it.
  • The Terra Wind in the video was built in 2004. I wonder if they've sold any.
  • The coach has been around a couple of years. It was up for sale on eBay about two years ago but the wet gear had been removed. I can't remember but I think the auction closed with no bids beyond the reserve. OEM has had they share of booms and busts and I had thought they went out of business. From the looks of the web site maybe not.

Either way I'll pass on the coach. Cost just doesn't justify the capabilities. Plus I suspect the state would require two sets of tags, road and water. The DMV had a hard enough time with my class A can't image how Marine Resources would react.

    Love it!
  • Sorry but, for that kind of money I can buy a RV and a boat.

The RAV does not appeal to me. JMO
  • It has been posted in the past..But it is interesting to see what appears to be some additional photos... I am wondering how many of these have been sold.
