First off do not tell your wife that her side of the coach was riding low.
Shocks prevent porpoising of a coach after hitting a bump. they do not support a load like a spring.
Didn't the P30's of that era have air bags inserted in the springs? If that is the case you could have a bad air bag or one that is low on air.
