Until you get some seat time, I'd simply stay on the 405N to I-5N to 99N to 80E. That way you'll get a real feel for the new coach. The G****vine will let you see how it will perform on a long grade. Bakersfield RV Resort is a nice stopping place with a pool etc. There's a Camping World within walking distance in case you need anything.
If you're feeling adventurous, take Ca88E outside Stockton and stop in Jackson. The Jackson Rancheria RV Resort is just that - a resort and is a beautiful stop. You can then continue Ca 88 to Carson City and come in from the south. Otherwise just continue north on Ca99 to I-80....
