The FIRST leg of his trip would be straight up I-405 from San Diego to Orange County. This will give him about 3 hours of seat time into Anaheim with very little traffic. He could then swing north on CA57 to CA210West to bypass Los Angeles altogether. The 210 would take him right back to I-5 NORTH of Los Angeles. This would give him another 3 hours of seat time with minimal traffic but some, so his travel would be varied. I-5 North at that point would put him right near the bottom of the grapvine (spelling modified due to RVNet censors). Going over the grapvine will give him an idea of what to expect on a long continued climb and a short but steep descent after Fort Teton. All varied driving experiences to see how the rig performs. The rest of the trip should be uneventful as it's mostly flat central California farmland. He will experience some traffic coming thru Sacramento but it should be minimal. His climb over Donner Summit should be nothing as he's already experienced that roadway in previous travels. Additionally, he will have experienced the Grapvine climb so Donner should be a piece of cake.....Dennis
