Lots of factors involved. Almost all Sprinters will be 24 feet long, and likely 3500-5000 pounds of towing capacity (make sure to check on this, and be SURE you can get a transmission cooler if towing even a small car.)
If I had to go with a Sprinter based class C, I'd probably start out at the local dealers and check what they have.
Don't forget, in a year or two, you will be seeing Ford's and Dodge's new van chassis models. They get roughly the MPG of a Sprinter (although M-B is still top dog), but should be definitely cheaper.
