I sent an email off to Michelin awaiting there response. Also found this article http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/groupbounder_diesel/message/297 It was on page 8 of a Michelin XRV google pdf search it's technical but states where XRV's are on a Freightliner front axle of a DP and the total weight is 90 lbs. over the rating of the XRV.

Gfs, don't give up on me I gave you a table to go by earlier because I can't find the PDF file that you requested on my computer. In fact all my Michelin files are gone (I save anything that Michelin puts out) I even lost a great file from Motorhome Magazine 2010 on Michelin Tires. I'm going to email Michelin and see if they have any archives that I can get into and I'll be able to find it that way if they let me access it. I have a Mac computer and I was storing the PDF Files in the recent down loads part of my computer files and at the bottom there is a clear all bar and I assume my 16 year old grandson hit that bar when he was on my computer last week. I'll look in some other places also. I can't remember everything in that download, but I do remember Michelin stating that DP's should go with the XZE tire. I was really bummed out to discover that. I'm also going into the trash bin to see if it has been cleared out. Sorry Rooster

I go to the Michelin Website then to the Michelin XRV page that shows a cut a way version of the 5 layers of an XRV Tire. There you will find a chart for example on my coach I has a LRG rating on my tires. Then you will need to know the PSI of your coach's tires and the gross weight of your coach then you add the single and the dual numbers together. That will give you a load rating for your tire that the tire cannot go over. With my coach my load rating LRG and I run 100 PSi, plus my overall weight (The chart says my tires cannot handle the weight over 25, 130 lbs.) I have a 35' coach that is a gasser running on 22.5 rims. You have to do the math and the weights and the PSI (by the way the lower PSI) that you run in your tire according to Michelins chart will put the overall weight even lower for that tire (If I was running 85 PSI I could not run the weight of 25,130). The Michelin chart will show you after you add all your info. what weight that your tire cannot not handle. Do the math and you will know if your XRV can handle the weight.

We just traded a coach with new tires and I elected to use Hankook AH-12's when I got them last June. There gave me a very nice ride.

The dealer included a new set of tires on the coach we just got and I told him I would be happy if they put Hankook AH-12's on it if they wanted. They told me they always use Michelin so they put XXA2's on it. It was their money so fine with me.

I think as long as you get a decent tire, inflate them to the proper level based on your actual axle weights, and otherwise take good care of them, you will be fine.

Michelin definitely had that problem and bad, which I observed first hand, but would have thought they should have it corrected by now. Having said that, the earlier Michelins were very good and what came on this coach, which were on it for 10yrs and still looked great. In fact I still have one for a spare.
As for new tires and if you like paying for names, then I would go with Bridgestone. As for me, I've quit paying for now and will be testing 4 Chinese Hercules for my duallies this summer. The Goodyears certainly weren't anything to write home about.

We have the same exact tire (Continental HSR1 275s all 6) very happy so far after a year install and about 3k miles..
The HSR2 (more aggressive tread is suppose to go on the drivers, we opted for HSR1 all 6)..my 2 cents...I run 110lbs all 6..

2003 Fleetwood Discovery 39s. I replaced all 6 last year with Continental HSR1 275s for around $3200 all in. I have driven these for 10,000 miles so far and am completely satisfied. They are quiet, track well and provide a great ride. I had the opportunity to compare these tires with the Michelins checking side wall flex, and rubber consistency etc. They are virtually identical except that the michelins were almost double the price. Don't get pulled into believing the "special compound"******that Michelin and Goodyear promote to justify their price level.

I replaced my Michelin tires with Good year from a Good year truck service. They are about 1/2 inch shorter than Michelin there is no difference on the way the MH rides. I least to me, This is only my opinion. Good luck with your search.:W
