New to diesel - airbags and storing RV

Again, we are posting about to very different systems-- they are different:

Air suspension with air leveling.

Air suspension with mechanical jacks.

When parked more than one day, I dump air, Jacks down.

Keeping John's post in mind, think about whether it could affect your coach if one of the corners deflated and the other three did not.

Depending on where you park and for how long will help answer the question. Quick winks at a rest stop or walmart no....A longer stay yes, dump the air, the steps will be closer to the ground and the jacks won't have to extend as far. I found out the hard way that despite all the safety features and so called lock outs and detents a jack will over-extend. The one jack repair so far is at 700 stay tuned

Yes, that mysterious generator start unit is next in my technical manual reading and decoding list. So far, we LOVE ours. I just need to figure this all out.............

Mr. Catkins, we went over the new coach today and found the inverter in one of the mid-bays at the ceiling and just about 10 inches away was the auto-genny start controller. Of course you don't need to mess with it, it's just good to know where it is.

The Magnum inverter controller above the driver's seat area has the AGS (automatic generator start) button along with the others. If you didn't know, you need to select your shore power amperage. My brother has a 15 amp in his garage.

You hit the 'shore' button and it will show your battery volts/amps, push again and it will show your shore power. Turn the knob to the correct shore power (15, 20, 30, 50, 60) ...... once you rotate the button for the correct shore power, PUSH the big button to 'set' the number.

The Tiffin Allegro RED is very nicely equipped for the money (tile floor, four slides, flex-steel seats/furniture, day/night MCD type shades (not sure of exact brand), fantastic vents, electric fridge, 340 hp Cummins, pana-view windshield, 4 TV's, etc. And, good storage.

I was not intending to brag about the new RV, just very excited and overwhelmed by the learning curve moving from gas to diesel since I have never owned a diesel. I am a true and absolute diesel newbie. I paid out much more than I should have on this RV and do not want to do something stupid to do damage if I can learn and avoid. We drove the last gasser for almost nine years........... Reading manuals and reading posts here as fast as I can.

i used to dump the air on mine - it seems unnecessary since i put my coach on the jacks & get the weight off the tires (to prevent flat spotting).

My last coach was a Monaco with RR4R chassis. Once I returned to storage and found the coach leaning to the right, the air line had developed a small leak. Came right back up when I started it up. After that I started dumping air when stored. Current coach is RR8S chassis and I've dumped air when stored for the last 6 years with no problem, I just didn't want a problem should a leak develop on this coach.
