New to flat tow

Get the front end checked. Low press left front, alignment, HHR's are known for front strut wear out. They usualy make a thumping sound or creeking sound going over speed bumps or pot holes.I owned my 2008 hhr since new and now 53,000 they need replacing.

Mine did it also. Pulled to Right slightly.
A few times it did feel a little squirrelly towing, especial on wet roads.
Front end place did alignment, no change.
I had them swap front tires, then the pull was to the Left.
New tires cured it.

BTW, if you start looking at new tires and get sticker shock, PM me.

Just the fact that you're pulling it, should produce the same effect as correcting it's path with the steering wheel, but best like always, just to fix the car and just as you would any daily driver that you depended upon.

They should not pull...ours is straight as an arrow. I added a toggle switch so I don't need to pull the fuse anymore.

Since it's new to you, have the tow bar AND the baseplate checked for tightness and trueness. Any variation in alignment can cause the problem you're describing.......Dennis

I have a 2007 HHR Tow with a ReadyBrute Elite system. Fortunately I have not experienced any "pull" problems.
