New to the class B world

Hey guys just wanted to introduce myself

I go by the great name Fernando!

I've been traveling in Van conversions since I was young my dad always love them.
Now 30 years old and a soon to be father.... wife is five months ;)
The first thing I thought of was getting rid of my truck camper that I have loved for three years and buying a conversion van. To really start traveling a little more comfortable

So off I was searching for a class b RV's. I wasn't shocked to see the price tags and how well they hold their value So I quickly narrow down my search to cater to my budget which was around 15 K.
After about three months of searching I was down to Coachmens and explores.
About a month ago I was on craigslist doing my normal hunt and came across a 93 Ford coachman E-250. Only about a hour away I decided to go check it out .
Ended up paying 10 grand cash 93 with 60k mile
  • Congratulations, and welcome to the Forum. Sounds like you can do much of any required work on the Coachman yourself, and, IIRC, some folks here with similar capabilities have done very well with older units. Enjoy.

Welcome, and congratulations on your purchase! We just bought a Coachmen Class B on a 1996 Chevy earlier this spring. Dinette/bed in the back, and couch/bed behind the driver. Same mileage range and price range, but traveled 1000 miles to get it. Just completed my 3rd trip, wife's first trip. A nice RV for the money; we were in the same price range as well. It's great to be on the road again.

Hopefully we can get it out over the long weekend .
  • If I could figure out how to upload pictures from my iPad I will shortly .

  • After bringing it home I realize very quickly that it sure was clean and original.
And when I say original I mean original.
All the spark plugs spark plug wires the batteries were completely original
Ended up doing a complete tuneup wires hoses all fluids as well.
Unfortunately did not realize the brand-new tires has dry rot And needed to be replaced
So once what we were at the tires I took a close look at the suspension and that was pretty much shot as well.
Ended up installing new billsten? shocks all around as well as the two front springs and installing air right airbag suspension in the rear.
