New (to us) Forester 2251

Once again we're going the other direction, size wise, on our MH. Just bought a '14 Forester 2251 on a Chevy 4500 chassis ! After the trip next summer to Alaska in the Foretravel, we'll go small again. We wanted a walk around bed, and a chassis with guts enough to pull the Jeep. Try finding that in something less than 26'! Looking forward to drifting again, instead of following the interstate from one "resort" to the next....and having to make reservations.

  • I've had 2 Lazy Daze on the Ford chassis, that's why I ONLY wanted a Chevy. I've also had 2 B's on the Sprinter, loved them, but the C's just wouldn't hack it for us.
  • Sounds like you made a good choice, being on a Chevy Chassis you will have plenty of power and it will be more comfortable with more leg room than a Ford and you won't have to worry about the handling problems that plague some Fords.
  • Toad ? Yep, some areas we visit we go off roading, believe me, you don't want to take the big box.
  • Yup,mid-size class c.We're all starting to figure out that this is the sum of all the compromises. It's the "get up and go no matter what" solution to "I hate seeing my rv sitting and not being used" syndrome.
By the way, corner bed in a slideout is an interesting answer to the rear bed/bath concept.
Ps:are you sure you need that toad?
