i sure wouldn't mine seeing those truckers, Busses and everybody doing 80mph slow down
everytime i go thru Az, i get passed by them and i'm running 65mph
in a DP that was geared to cruise at 55 (aka 1995) and 80 is pushing max unless its down hill
day or night, 95% of them are passing me, and swaying in the wind while doing it
and some of the newer Dp's are pushing 80mph and passing me, even though the limit is 75
i know i'll be one of the minority but thats the way it is
in this case slower IS Safer
cars and trucks and busses and RVs
im not saying they should be geared down or governed
just a nice safe even speed limit for all involved
the 55 limit did not make much difference than 65
but keeping the speed at 65 and under does make a difference
higher rates of speed do create more fatal crashes
if the limit is 75 drivers will do 80-85
strictly enforced 65 keeps the majority from going too fast
the idiots will never obey the law, but most truckers, buses and rv's do not want to be cited and will obey the law (or try to)
