Ocala Fl near Silver Springs Campground information

Am planing to go to SP and would like to hear about the local campgrounds close to SP. If you have stayed at any of them or live in the area I would appreciate any information you can give me. Thanks

Which park are you going to? Currently Silver Spgs is under a take over by the state of Florida and frankly there is not much to see. Degradation of the spring has led to a lot of problems. There is a SP at Silver River SP that is W&E only but a very nice CG. About 20 miles NE is Salt Spgs Rec area a FHU NFS CG that is top notch. Rainbow Spgs SP is about 30 miles west and is a FHU SP CG.
