O/D

I have an over drive button on my 2005 Bounder 35E that I never use. Tow a J-Liberty and all is good. When do all you RVers use your O/D thanks Tom

    What he said.

    Default is overdrive = on.
every time you start the engine, overdrive is on.
Leave it there unless you are in rolling hills and she's "hunting for a gear"

I use or all the time. I try and stay in OD when hill climbing once it down shifts I will drop it down a gear manually to keep the trans from shifting in and out of OD.

  • On any flat stretch of road or downhill driving, I kick in the OD at 40 MPH it's a great fuel saver for me especially at 59 MPH, @ 1900 RPM, "the sweet spot".
  • In hilly country you'll find yourself pressing the o/d button off and on a lot. It is a very useful both climbing and going down hills. If you leave it on all the time it will make your bad gas mpg even worse.
  • When we had our gas rv we used overdrive all the time.
  • I use O/D anytime I am on a fairly level stretch. Turn it off when going down steeper grades.
    Works well for me.
