oder in new RV

I recently purchased a 2014 Forest River Berkshire 390bh and there is a strong mildew odor in the RV. It seems to be coming from the kitchen sink. Any ideas on what I could use to eliminate the odor coming from the kitchen sink. I don't smell the same odor from bathroom sink.

  • Some coaches have a water filter under the kitchen sink. It is possible that it could have leaked a little bit and is causing the odor.
  • Any signs of water leaking anywhere down there? Dampness anywhere?

You may have to open the door and put a fan blowing in there for a few days to dry it out completely. Had a similar problem in my back bathroom and discovered my rear camera had a leak and water was getting under the cabinet.

Had to run a fan several days to get it all dried out.
  • Replacements are available very inexpensively at most Home Depot or LOWES
  • Thank you for the picture as I would not have known what to look for. poured some bleach/water mixture down the kitchen sink to see if that will help. will check the valve tomorrow.
  • you could have a failed under sink vent or maybe not installed at all.

Read this blogfor some info it pertains to S&B homes but touches on RV's
  • Did you check for an air admittance valve under the sink? Maybe it's bad.
