First, I'm glad that you are both OK. Don't beat yourself up, it could have happened to any of us. Sometimes, things are in the road, could have been much worse.

How old are your tires? If I ran over a large item like that, I might be inclined to have the front one inspected. If it looks OK, then maybe I would let the rears go unchecked. It's all up to you but I think the front tire would be the best indicator if there is a problem.
