Same thing happen to us a few years ago only we were driving an SUV. Driving at night in the passing lane ran over a 4x4. That will jar your teeth loose. Pulled over at the next rest stop and everything check out ok. That's always been in the back of my mind which is why we avoid driving our motorhome at night if at all possible. I realize anything can happen at anytime but at least in the day time you have more of a chance of seeing it so you can avoid it.Driving highway speeds at night can be disastrous when you can't run with your brights on because of oncoming traffic, or because of diminished weather conditions. You're almost always overdriving your ability to stop after seeing a foreign object, and, swerving is usually a disaster too at highway speeds at night in a rig. I avoid it whenever I can.
