Oil analysis of Ford V10 and Mobil 1
Thought you folks would want to see this oil analysis after a cross country thru the western mtn ranges. Mobil 1 EP 5-20 @5500 miles. Did the job but I wouldn't go over 7500miles on it. I consider this severe duty use.

COMMENTSSTEVE: Thanks for the notes about the towing and hard use through the mountains. Your V-10 handledthat well. For such a new engine, we honestly expected more residual wear-in metal since that can take awhile to wash out, but it's not here. Universal averages show typical wear levels for this type of engine afterabout 4,400 miles on the oil and this engine compares nicely. Silicon is probably harmless sealers washingout, but you can always check the air filtration system just to be safe. The TBN is 3.3 showing activeadditive left. Try 7,500 miles next and check back.
