OK this is it. Buying time! I need your help!

I am in the market for two units. A travel trailer and a class A. Long story why not getting into. The MH is what we will be using to travel full-time.

I’m not somebody who is impulsive so it’s been many months of walking and looking and researching.

At hand is a 2007 Fleetwood American tradition 42L. Every option available you can imagine. Tag axle, 43 foot long, quad slide. Real wood. It’s nice it’s clean it’s everything you can imagine. $149,500 400 HP Diesel 33k miles. I’ve decided to pull the trigger.

Dealer trying to make me think it’s priced as is because it’s so clean. Blah blah blah.
He said make me an offer.

I’m eating lunch right now and thinking about what to offer NADA $159,500 high to $135,000 low BASE model. This is definitely not a base model but I just don’t have the time right now to waste more time putting in all the options to get a price for it.

I need help with the following area. Anybody know of anything about this particular model home I should be concerned about? My research is not showing anything current and everyone’s “GUT” feeling about the price with the understanding as I stated, top-notch condition every option luxury imaginable.

Thanks everyone!!

  • I did a little bit of checking and I'm seeing that for a 2007 it seems a little much. I see 2013-14's in the neighborhood of the price you mentioned. I've seen 2007 for less then 98k. Personally I'd never ever buy something (with a motor) that is 11-12 yrs old, unless it's a classic. But we're all different, so If I had 149k to spend I'd get a 2013-14.
  • If you’re on Facebook and haven’t already, check out the FB page "RV Pricing and Values" before deciding and buying. Be sure and read the Pinned Post before asking questions! David may be able to save you some $$$.

this is not the Current day Fleetwood MH, this is an American Coach that you are talking about. Hence I think it is priced accordingly. I definitely would not compare it to todays Fleetwood Discovery or Holiday rambler Endeavor Series, which I happen to like very much. Also there's Usually a big price jump when you go from a 380 Hp to a 400Hp. I think you have room to haggle with the guy. Start at 135K and work your way up and see who caves first. It can't hurt right?

I bought a 2015 Fleetwood Disovery 40E last year for $186K, fully loaded, 380HP but no tag axle, 13K miles. Your deal seems kind of high to me compared to my deal, miles and year.

Thanks information like that always helps :)

buy in haste, repent in leisure. take the time to input the options into NADA. it ain't the last MH on earth.

Truth is I take anything that has a book value like NADA with a grain of salt and it’s only a very rough indication for me at best. I got my base and all of the options aren’t going to help me much because it’s not like I’m going to use it as a end all Bible :)
