I would just like to follow up on this thread. It has been a few months now since the voltage regulator came in, and was installed.
upon connecting the new regulator, problem solved. the generator ran for about 20 hours with no problems.
TO ANYONE WHO CAME UPON THIS THREAD BY A SEARCH. READ BELOW, ITS IMPORTANT!!
When these kind people take their time to help you, dont ignore or dismiss their advice. I bought the slip stick *just in case* but didnt really actually use it other than the first time.
The rings got dirty, and then, when I needed the generator the most, it would not produce power because the voltage regulator gave up again.
I observed that my once clean rings were now dirty again. I spent the 30 seconds it took to clean them, and the generator ran for 12 hours steady with no issues.
KEEP IT CLEAN, KEEP IT ALIVE.
