Anyhow, I suspect the oil is your culprit. I change the oil in my Onan after every trip where I use it on the highway. Cheap investment if you ask me and doesn't take that much time.

A total waste of time and money let alone resources. Use top grade oil....same with filters and change it at prescribed intervals unless you know a long trip...etc...is in the near future then go ahead and change earlier than scheduled
