Some manufacturers do, some don't.
If the wiring harness was installed at buildout, then adding a genset would be relatively straightforward. If not, well, things would get a bit more complicated.
Separately, as to Onan or Generac - though I'm partial to Onan - I'd install exactly what would have been installed at buildout if one were ordered at that time.

Sounds like good advice to me and the folks at Leisure are very helpful. I know that the gen was an option according to the 06-07 brochure, and I'd be surprised if it didn't have the connections in place. But they should be able to tell you up at the factory in Winkler.
Ours came with an Onan, and it has worked very well with no problems other than balking once at starting when temps were in the 20s.
