to anyone who uses the supertrapp attached to the Onan resonator.

i want to order the supertrapp before my van is delivered.

the supertrapp has several different pipe sizes.

  • onan 2800. i have seen one with resonator at end and supertrapp hooked to the end of the resoantor.

my desire was not to do anything permanent but hook ot to the end when parked for a period of time.

i will keep all in mind.

    thanks everyone
  • 1.25" OD for the regular exhaust pipe on the 3600

The combination of the Onan resonator and Supertrapp can only do so much to reduce noise as, depending on the installation, mount and enclosure vibration/resonation and internal engine noise is not addressed. Make sure your mounts are as resonant free as possible and use sound deadener in the compartment.

I have the 5S1250H Supertrapp with two discs and the resonator on the regular exhaust pipe coming off the Onan resonator on an RV QG 3600 LP.

I would try just the Onan resonator, good mounts and compartment deadening first and see if that quiets things down enough before going to the Supertrapp. Or just the Supertrapp instead of combined with the Onan resonator.

To be clear, the Onan resonator is inserted between sections of regular generator exhaust pipe and the Supertrapp is attached to the end of the regular size exhaust pipe.
  • Are you getting a 2800 or 4000? I'm not sure the pipe is different, but it might be.
