i agree w/ everyone's opinion and good ideas on this subject, and thank you all. i must admit to being a terrible salesman.
this is what i think we're finally settling down with...keeping the MH.
2 months ago, my nerves and self-confidence took an existential hit when en route to a nearby SP, and only 20 mi from home on the interstate, doing a bit over 50 mph, the passenger side inner dually blew and completely detreaded itself. with smoke from tire and growing smell of propane, we limped a mile on shoulder to an exit and pulled into parking lot of a small medical center. the propane alarm went off and martha leashed and came out w/ 3 dogs (calmer head than me, i would've just opened the door and let 'em out). we turned off the propane and after a bit, the alarm stopped. the wheels are surrounded with propane tank, copper/iron pipe, and furnace and its 4" ducts. all 3 duct tubes were wrapped around thewheel, plastic wheel liner got cracked, and copper tubes to furnace and fridge got crushed where they were connected to a 6" length of 1/2"iron pipe that was sheared off at its threaded connection to an iron T joint.
i did not trust my spare, and the other 3 inflated dually tires were defective, so after safeco failed in getting the right assistance, we just paid for the tire dealer to send a guy w/ 2new tires. 6 hrs later, and after a flashers-on 45 mph limp, we were home.
the night before, i felt the treads and knew something wasn't normal. the surface was not smooth, and the tread bands were no uniformly spaced. but because this was happening to all 4 rear wheels, i thought maybe it was just how the rig sat. i didn't sleep well and brought phone numbers and told martha to drive slow. so she and the dogs were far more surprised than i when the loud blowout hit.
i was really shook up by all this, and the flight from MH reflex kicked in bigtime.

OTOH, what does your wife want? Does she want more hitching to do with the R-Pod? I would prefer to keep the B+ over a trailer myself.
