Now that we ordered a new 28ft we are concerned about fitting into our favorite spots
We traveled for 10 years and 75,000 miles in ALL of the lower 48 and most of Canada in a 22 foot Chevy Four Winds. We slept in the overhead.
Two years ago we upgraded to a Coachmen 28QB. It, too, is about 6 feet longer than the old one.
We have had no change in our ways of traveling. Where we COULD go, we still CAN go. We rarely drive the Interstates, preferring the back roads and little towns, but now we can carry more fuel, more water, and more STUFF.
Don't fret about it. That said, you DO have to remember your longer wheelbase and turning radius. Just go deeper into a corner before you turn and BE VIGILANT in backing up.
Just get out there, have fun, and enjoy your new bedroom. We LOVE ours.

PS: By the look of your map, you have only camped almost HALF of everywhere (grin).
