I would think back on your favorite campgrounds and try to remember if any had something blocking the back of the pad.
In some of my favorite NF campsites here in Northern California, there are tall rocks and/or trees that would prevent me from backing the overhang past the pad. The last campsite I was in had a pad of exactly 25ft and there was an evil rock at the back - the rock was just high enough that it would hit the underneath of your overhang and rip it apart.
We camp a lot in Yosemite and only a few of the sites we frequent have tress behind or on the side where it may be an issue for the slide-outs.
But in the winter when there is snow, they don't plow deep enough into the site and leave a frozen pile of ice at the rear. Many times I have backed up with my 22ft Minnie to the snow bank, just off the roadway. There is no way to shovel the snow once it hardens into solid ice.
