So jealous am I... I have my 3050DS on order since July and it was delayed by the Ford E450 problem. Should be in any day now and I'm looking forward to it.
You are lucky you got your Chevy made before the Chevy factory changed over to making another line of vehicles. They won't be back to making the Chevy cut-away chassis until next spring.
For those that don't follow the Ford/Chevy choice in Class C's, Ford's E450 for 2016 will have a new 6 speed transmission. Forest River made the decision to use the E450 for their entire line of Ford based Class C's. When the chassis is cut and extended for making a motorhome, the drive shaft's angle out of the transmission is therefore changed. This resulted in a vibration at 60 mph, where the old 5 speed was okay. Forest River shut down their production lines while Ford and Forest River engineers looked for a solution to the problem.
The problem has been solved, production lines at Forest River are back running. But, any coach (read... MY coach) in production was delayed several weeks.
