Our new RT RS Adventurous

Here she is our new 2013 RS Adventurous. Had her less then 42 hrs and had to have it towed in for service:M Started out on a trip and got 10 miles from home when we realized we had forgotten something and headed back home. Started out again, and the engine light came on. Several calls later, and it is being towed to a Mercedes dealer. What a way to start out. Closest dealer is 45 miles away. Could be worst. Just thankful it happened close to home.

  • I know that because you lost power this would not help for this situation, but it is a good idea to get a code reader. It is simple to use - just plugs in under the dash and you will know immediately what the problem is. The engine light can come on for some reasons that don't need attention and you can clear the code and see if it comes back on. The reader is not cheap but less than a $100 and there are some that will use an Iphone or Android phone and all you need to purchase is the plug and the app which is less than a standalone code reader.
  • No info yet as to what the problem is. The engine light came on and it went into limp mode. Our biggest concern when we were deciding on the RS was the MB engine and getting service, especially if traveling. We want to have a positive attitude and hope this is not going to be a common occurrence. Otherwise....for sale 2013 RS Adventurous ;)
  • Unfortunately, there will be lots of time when there is no dealer within 45 miles (or maybe 250 miles).
  • yizit,

Bummer about the code! Please update us on what it was.

    Thanks,

    Bill
  • Congrats yizit.Very elegant and sporty design. Interested too why the red engine light? A good sized RV which should be loads of fun to use.
  • Well it looks fabulous. But engine lights coming on are the pits. I have had the engine light go on and off this last 8,000 miles. Hopefully it is just a glitch.
