This is what I do and I'm glad I did this versus trying to mount it. The new LED TV's are very light now. You can carry a 32" one with one hand. I have a 50' coax and a 50' extension cord and I can set the TV up anyplace in camp I want. If you mount it then you're limited to just viewing it where you mounted it. Sometimes you may want it in different spots. We camp with groups a lot so it's nice to be able to bring the TV out to center of camp. Last time I used it was during the World Series to watch the Giants win. Only problem with that was we ended up with about 30 people from the neighboring campsites watching our TV!
