Using BaseCamp at all? In BaseCamp, you can pick a specific vehicle profile and edit the vehicle specs and change the routing preferences, avoiding things like, u-turns, unpaved roads, major highways, toll roads, etc. Not sure what the default settings are in the device for what the chosen vehicle is. There sure are some "gotchas" in using BaseCamp and it takes some time to learn them. I have found it beneficial to do route planning for every trip I make in my pickup and use the 770 all the time, in order to get familiar with it.
As well, using BaseCamp lets you do a thorough job of reviewing the route before loading it on the device.
I started with BaseCamp and quit 3 or 4 times before things finally started to come together. That was after quite a few hours of reviewing youtube videos and reading other guides on the Net.Stick with it, you will get what you are looking for in the 770.
Can you tell us a little more about base camp please. Sounds like a useful thing to know about and I have no idea what and how to set it up.
