Parking Marks on Driveway

We use a flower pot that includes a lamppost and a solar light to help us park our motor home in our driveway. We pull into the driveway until that lamppost is directly next to our mirror, we get out and put the proper leveling boards in front of each tire, and then pull up onto the boards. Our motor home is then completely level on our blacktop driveway with enough room in front to use a ladder to clean the windshield.

What we want to do now is to mark the driveway, with a permanent round circle exactly where the flower pot/lamppost is supposed to be. If we see the circle as we pull in, it has been moved and we have to move it back before we park.

Has anyone done this? We don't want to use the yellow paint for drawing highway lines, just some sort of black paint or sealer or something that will barely visible. If you have done anything like this, what did you use?

  • a couple rubber trash cans and a recycle bin before the wall. I was checking if she is still fit to drive. She says someone needs to drive the old folks around.

Thanks Dutch, I think this is the direction I will head
  • I use a sharpie black pen. I mark a line on the pavement that I line up with a line on a piece of tape on the bottom of my drivers side open door frame.

  • I park on gravel but, why not use something like a cap nail?
Get a small piece of aluminum, put a hole in the center and nail it into the asphalt. Paint it black and it won't stand out.
Set the pot on top of the cap.

If you need the pot to be exactly centered in the circle, scribe a circle into the asphalt and cover it with driveway sealer.
