Our class B is parked on concrete, outdoors, all the time. It's a 20' PW Excel TD. Did I read somewhere about a mat that can be put under the vehicle (and driven up on)to prevent the concrete from leaching moisture out of the tires? We recently had to replace tires, not because of wear, but because of that fine line cracking of the sidewalls. Of course, our desert heat and sunshine doesn't help much either. Thanks for any info.

I would suggest driving far enough to get the motor fully warmed to boil off any water from condensationMike

From my research, no, concrete does not leach moisture from tires.

I'm not an expert but have avoided the problem by driving the van every 2 or 3 weeks and storing it under a roof so the sun doesn't get to the tires. Tires have an additive to protect against dry rot that is released when the tire heats up with use. Also I found this:

For the record, Michelin recommends that:
•If the cracks are less than 1/32" deep, the tire is O.K. to run.

•Between 1/32" and 2/32", the tire is suspect and should be examined by your Michelin tire dealer.

•If the cracks are over 2/32", the tire should be replaced immediately.

Move the van every so often - even a few inches or a foot to change the position of the tires. My Class B sits on my driveway all year other than when we are traveling and I have had no problems with the tires.

I picked up 4 squares of discarded plywood from a construction site and park on those.

We have used large plastic parking pads specifically for the purpose. When parking long term on a concrete pad I put aluminum flashing that has been waxed under each tire. That has the additional benefit of keeping mice from climbing up the tires and into the MH. Tire covers are also a must if parked outside.
