Parking on concrete slab

Our class B is parked on concrete, outdoors, all the time. It's a 20' PW Excel TD. Did I read somewhere about a mat that can be put under the vehicle (and driven up on)to prevent the concrete from leaching moisture out of the tires? We recently had to replace tires, not because of wear, but because of that fine line cracking of the sidewalls. Of course, our desert heat and sunshine doesn't help much either. Thanks for any info.
  • For short term storage, I'd just park it and not worry.

For long term storage (weeks or longer), I'd probably make some 2x10s, take them to a Rhino Lining or a Line-X place, have them sprayed, then store the rig on top of those. The epoxy coating will keep the wood from rotting, as well as keep dry rot from happening.

There is a lot of debate of using jacks for long term storage or not. As far as I have read, I'd not bother. Suspensions don't wear out by sitting around. They wear out by damage done to rust and miles.
  • Scrap wood is cheap. I would not bother to spray to preserve. I've got some 32 year old 2 x 12 pine decking scraps still doing the job.
  • I used to put my RT on plywood to get it off the concrete on one side and the gravel on the other. Now I just drive it once a month.

There seems to be no foundation in the storing on concrete is that bad for tires.
