We love Passport America and it is usually our first choice when in a new area. Can't imagine people willing to give it up for not getting a book yearly. It just hurts yourself. There are so many useful Smart Phone apps out there, nobody should be without one. The books can be a year old and internet is up to date. I think all of the big books for camping are on their last legs anyway.
The reason why I do not like PassPort America is because it is hard to get reservations with them. On holidays you can just forget about ever getting into one of those parks.
