Staying here in Florida at Blueberry Hill a Sun Community RV park. They just got finish installing water meters so we can start paying for water! Was wondering if any other parks or charging for water and the names of the parks that are! Also how much or your water bills running?Thanks

I have never stayed in a Full Hook-up RV park that charged for water.When we were full-timers, we stayed at parks where the electric service was metered, but never the water.I think I would move.

I think that is a first - paying for sewer next - water must be expensive there or they could not have justified the cost of installation of the meters

Water might be expensive or if the community has limited rights or resources might well be the justification for individual meters, rr225. Poo pooing this expense as unnecessary without more information is unwise.

Also how much or your water bills running?ThanksThe last Sun RV park (+25 years old) I stayed in (east San Diego area) was a full service RV resort park and a bit expensive at +-$725/month plus metered electricity @ $.155/kwhr. Although they had over 250 spaces, many of them were larger spaces with full time residents living in +40' long higher end RV's. No water meters as of 3 years ago. At the cost of water, meters, and accounting, I find it troubling that the idea of metering water would be more desirable than adding a water surcharge to the monthly rent for long term residents just like a typical apartment.Oh well, everybody's got to make a buck somehow.Chum lee

We own a lot in a retirement park here in MIssion, Texas. We collectively own our park. The water system is owned by a water utility which also owns the sewer system. We pay $434 a year for water.

. like in an S& B does that $434 also cover sewer property tax and trash?

Rumor has it that Blueberry Hill will be adding a toll gate for guests walking across the street to Walmart... ;)

People waste it. Raise the rent and people get ticked. Pay your own water and the expense gets moved to who deserves it most.

Doubt if the meters are for travelers. Like the installation of electric meters, these will be for annuals or long term tenants. I have never been to a park where electric is charged for short term stays. 30 days or more, yes. Otherwise, no. Much ado about nothing....Dennis

When we had a sticks and bricks home, they had a high rate for the water usage and then doubled it for the sewage bill. We have run into some county parks with electric only that charge additional for dumping as the dump site is on the outer edge of the park, not in the camping area and others come in and use it frequently also, so the policy is that everyone pays. With metered water, I think I would have to leave, or use their showers everyday and do laundry somewhere else. I hope that practice does not spread to far to fast. Happy trails bert

I am at Blueberry Hill right now. Talked with a gentleman and he said the back park is having meters installed. I am in the front part, short stays?
No meters installed yet.

Oh gee, hope no toll gate to Wal Mart or KFC.
