Yes.
I used both styles of eraser wheels when I took off my stripes and found the one made by 3M worked best.
Once you have the stripes removed, you will have an outline of the stripes that may or may not be removed with a buffer.
I used the outline as a template for my new stripes then painted on stripes using automotive paint.
It was a long, tedious project but turned out nice in the end.
