If you do change the altitude screw on the Onan... make sure to change it back before firing it up once back down to lower elevations. Too rich a mixture isn't good for it.
The only generator I know that can handle 15,000 feet with ease would be a 2000 watt Honda with the 7000+ foot elevation jets. Even then, they will be drastically derated.
