Totally agree with all who have said to accept an average of 50 MPH when traveling in an RV. We have RVed for over 40 years, and that is the reality. Your trip seems a bit ambitious, particularly given your time frame. There will always be someplace you have not anticipated that you decide to visit, and weather could always be a factor. Driving an RV along a highway in high winds is never a pleasant experience, and add a driving rainstorm it could be down right hazardous. Never know when you may have to wait for safety reason, and we always build in time for that reality. You could go from NC to Tampa in a day, but you'd start your trip tired. Could that part be made shorter by meeting your relative half way? Just a thought. That way you could save a day. Agree with others that California is just too far to go for a 2 week, maybe even a 3 week trip. Have fun with the planning, don't stress over it, and do keep to your goal of 6 hours a day driving with a day to stay at each stop. I always have my final destination in mind, then map out my trip in stages. Take one route out and a different one back so you can see more. For two weeks, I might go no farther than Colorado/New Mexico. The natural landmarks to be found in this area will be overwhelming! Be safe and have fun
