Sounds likely that the toad is "helping" you steer. I added a rear track bar which helped quite a bit. I probably got the most improvement by getting the slop out of the ball mount. I did both of these after dealing with the alignment. I used the adjustable caster/camber bushings and had trouble with one of them not staying put. In the end, I drilled a hole through the adjustable bushing and pinned it in place.
