I did notice my hitch receiver does have quite a bit of slop in it. It rattles and bangs around when pulling our ATV trailer with my truck. The tow bar is a Roadmaster Stowmaster 5000. Not sure how much unwanted movement they will have. Driving it without the toad is a good idea, and may do it later on today.
I have tried almost every Anti Rattle device on the market, most have been no good or so complicated and cumbersome that they are useless. Including the Blue OX.
Until I found the one at Hitch Rider.
Their Hitch Vice is the best and easiest one I have come across and it really works.
Looks like it will stop side to side movement, but what about up and down movement? The clamp won't stop it from moving up and down.
While I have not mounted it yet, I held it up to the receiver, and yes it mainly clamps the side to side movement, but it is literally like a vise. It shouldn't have any movement whatsoever. Even if it did allow some minor up/down movement, which I doubt it will, I can't see that being an handling issue.
